Lois Can Never Know!!

What can you say?  The art's good.  Gfest never thought Batman would play catcher but hey whatever makes the god damn Batman happy.

Meet DC's Newest Character - Aqualad (we think it stinks too)

The Source, DC's Comic blog recently released some information about a new character that will become an integral part of Brightest Day and the DC Universe.  This character will also appear in the New Young Justice animated series that will air on Cartoon Network.   Naturally it's Aqualad.

I know you are all overwhelmed by this huge revelation.  Gfest can't blame you for not caring.  I barely care about Aquaman and now your shoving Aqualad down our throats.

To our disappointment, Aqualad’s story actually begins in a few short weeks in BRIGHTEST DAY #4.  Apparently, he has no idea he’s about to become Aqualad.  In fact, according to the Source, he lives in one of the driest places in America – Silver City, New Mexico.

WOW! YEA!  WHO-HOO! We know nothing can makes this exciting.

FIRST PICTURES FROM THOR MOVIE SET

Entertainment Tonight visited the set of Thor and just released a four-minute video taking us behind the scenes with them.

You can watch the segment from ET after the jump, but in case you just want to see a few pictures from the video, Gfest has posted them right here for you as well.

We've got Anthony Hopkins as Thor's daddy, Odin, picture of Asgar, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

Marvel Teaser: Daredevil Becomes Greatest Villain in Marvel U

Gfest is very excited for the upcoming Marve Comics Shadowland series to begin next month.  THe teaser images Marvel has released thus far have been fascinating.

Yesterday, Marvel released this image of Daredevil with the following caption, "The Birth of the Marvel Universes Greatest Villain."

No more information was released by Marve about this image so for the time being we can only speculate on how cool this miniseries is going to be over the next 6 months.

Batman Taking Month Off to Watch World Cup

Even Batman needs a little time off, and with the World Cup back again, don't expect to see Batman around Gotham for the next month.  Commissioner Gordon and the Gotham City's Finest will have to step up their game for a while.

Batman versus Lesbians

Batman and Lesbians: two great tastes that taste great together.  Artist TheoDR should be commended for this masterpiece, especially that one panel where Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy kiss.

Warner Brothers Turning Green Lantern into the Next Lord of the Rings

Warner Brothers is so sure that the Green Lantern Movie will be a hit, that its giving it the Lord of the Rings treatment by already greenlighting work on the sequel.

Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim—all of whom worked on the first installment—have been hired to begin writing for the second movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Who are these guys? Berlanti created Everwood and is an executive producer on Brothers and Sisters. Guggenheim co-created Eli Stone with Berlanti and is executive producer and co-creator of the upcoming ABC superhero drama No Ordinary Family.
Starting work on a sequel so far out from a movie's release is rare, indicating the studio's confidence that green will turn out to be gold.

First Look at Disney's New 3D MovieTangled

Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) has been trapped in a tower for, like, ever in the second teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming 3D animated feature, Tangled

Despite Disney’s brief return to traditional hand-drawn animation with last year’s The Princess and the Frog, Tangled will be a 3D computer-crafted venture in the vein of their 2008 feature, Bolt.  Most of their future projects will be developed in a similar fashion, as 2D animation is regarded as more old-fashioned and lacking in terms of wide appeal with today’s moviegoers.

You can check out the second teaser for Disney’s Tangled below:

Image Comics Announces Special, Super-Sized Chew #15

Imgae Comics Press release:
Image Comics' CHEW marks the first quarter of its run with a special 15th issue

CHEW is a certified hit, and to celebrate CHEW’s 15th issue, which marks the end of the first quarter of the book’s run and hits store shelves September 29, writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory are thanking fans with a slew of special features.

“We wanted to do something really special for CHEW #15,” says Layman. “Honestly, we never thought we’d make it this far, and we wanted to do something above-and-beyond for the fans and retailers who have supported us.”

Layman adds, “We’re going 60 issues, and CHEW #15 is the quarter mark of the run. This is a big issue in a lot of ways. We introduce the last two remaining major supporting characters in the book, which would be eventful enough. But there are also a couple of shocking events — one so big, it’s really going to fundamentally change the book. So, we thought we’d commemorate the issue with something special. Extra pages. A tri-fold poster cover. And we’re giving you all the goodies for $2.99 — the same price as a regular issue of CHEW!”
“Nothing will be the same after CHEW #15,” declares Guillory. “That’s not hype. Not a gimmick. The status quo of this book is about to be annihilated.”

Batman's First JLA Audition

My God this the closest thing to a real batman that Gfest have ever seen.  I mean this kid looks like Bruce Timm drew him and he is a scene from the JLU series.  Pure Awesome!

You can see more of this kid's fantastic videos by going to his YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/azoazotube

I Knew Those Copies of 'Superman #75' Would Pay-Off

Gfest has numerous perfectly preserved copies of "Superman #75" The Death of Superman. Our friends laughed at us for holding on to those copies, but from the pictures above looks like Gfest is in the money.

The street art/illustrations by artist Don Lucho are fabulous.  Gfest would love to sit on a bench and watch the expressions of all the people that passed by and viewed the crime scene.

Nolan Picks Riddler for Batman 3

Can you solve the Gfest Riddle? We'll give you a picture and three clues to guess the actor's name that is rumored to be Christopher Nolan's pick to play the Riddler in Batman 3Third Rock from the Sun, Cobra Commander, and Inception.  Got it?

Movieline points out a report at their sister site, Hollywood Life, that claims Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Nolan's "first pick" to play the Riddler in Batman 3.

"Chris really dug Joseph [as an actor]," the site's purported insider claims. "There was a joke at first between them [on the set of Inception] that Joseph wanted to read for Batman 3 and things heated up as filming continued."

The site's source continued, "It's not 100% confirmed that he's getting [the role of The Riddler] but there's certainly talk about it. Joseph is definitely on the short list."

The rumor mill first churned out Joseph Gordon-Levitt's name in relation to Batman 3 as a possible replacement for the late Heath Ledger's Joker, but Nolan recently dismissed the idea of recasting the role and said the Joker will not return in any sequels.

If he is indeed cast as the Riddler -- that is if the Riddler is even the villain in Batman 3 -- then it wouldn't be Gordon-Levitt's first turn as a comic book villain. He played Cobra Commander in last summer's G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.

Best Futurama Costumes this Century

Jimbawe at Reddit and his girlfriend dressed up like Kif (the long suffering assistant to Captain Zapp Brannigan and Fourth Lieutenant on the Democratic Order of Planets (DOOP) starship Nimbus) and Amy Wong (tan intern at Planet Express that is studying engineering at Mars University) from Futurama

Gfest loves the costumes and hopes they will put them on for the season premier for Futurama on Jume 24.

Artist Combines Hello Kitty with Batman, Wolverine and Star Wars

Someone named Joseph Senior, just made me think that Hello Kitty was kind of cool.  That's an amazing artist right there.  Mr. Senior has crossed Hello Kitty with mainstays of popular culture such as Wolverine, Batman, Star Wars, Star Trek, Buzz Lightyear, and even Robocop.  Genius.

Bartman Begins

Alexander G otherwise known as itchandscratchy on deviantART created this Batman Begins/Simpsons parody piece that is fantastic.  He explains his inspiration below:
The Scarecrow's real name is Dr. Crane wich is also the name of Kelsey Grammer's character from Fraiser who also voices Sideshow Bob. Which explains the reason why I drew him as that villian. The Joker likes to laugh at people's pain, same does Nelson and are the bad guys Bart and Batman has known the longest. Lisa and Poison Ivy both want to prevent pollution and preserve plant life, but isn't able to do so successfully. Ivy does it in a criminal way and Lisa ends up causing a fuzz or annoying people.
Gfest loves Bartman Begins.  For more great artwork by Alexander G at deviantART.

Watch out: Steve Jobs Created the Phantom Zone

ugoagogo over at reddit posted this awesome photo of the iPad.  Who knew that Steve Jobs on top of everything else also invented the Phantom Zone.

Gfest assumes, Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe, will be the next person placed in the Phantom Zone directly followed by Jason Chen, Editor of Gizmodo.

Skottie Young: Heroes Con X-Baby Badges

For those of you that may not know, Skottie Young's brother, Landon had a heart transplant on Sunday and according to Skottie,
everything is working great now.  He's healing nicely and on his way to joining us again in the real world!  So, thanks for all the kind words, thoughts and support. has some serious health issues and he has been added to the donor list for a heart transplant.
Obviously because of his Brother's health, Skottie Young was unable to attend this years Heroes Con.  Despite all that was going on in his life he was still able honor the request of Shetlon, the owner and show runner of Heroes Con and do the badges for this years con.

Here are the wonderful X-Baby badges that were distributed at Heroes Con.  Please remember to keep Skottie's brother, Landon in your thoughts and prayers.  Gfest wishes Landon long days and pleasant nights.

Futurama X-Men = FANTASTIC

gottabecarl  posted this wonderful work of art on deviantART. Anytime Gfest can get their favorite animated characters re-imagined as their favorite superheroes makes for a damn good day.

The artist gottabecarl explains the inspiration behind this wonderfully creative picture.
A friend of mine suggested one day that it would be cool to see the characters of Futurama as X-Men and so I drew him Fry as Cyclops. For some reason I couldn't just stop there...and what came of it was a pretty extensive illustration with some of the most obscure characters from both the X-Men and Futurama universes.

Downfall of Being Batman and a Lego

According to duelinganalogos, Steve Napierski's awesome comic was originally the cover story for an issue of Hardcore Gamer Magazine. Unfortunately, for some reason beyond the comprehension of Gfest it was not utilized.

Fortunately, Gfest found it and will utilize it to show Steve's great art and comedic sense of humor to all of our friends.  Enjoy!

Awesome Video of Mario Going Through a School Building

Check out this amazing clip of Mario making his way through a Japanese school building.  I thought those kids studied all day long, and were kicking the rest of the world's butt in terms of education acheivments.  But how much time did it take to make this thing?

Apple's iPad adds in San Francisco Get Porn Pranked

Two dudes who are clearly as frustrated as the rest of the free world that Steve Jobs hates porn and tries to keep it off everything "i" pulled a great prank on Apple's CEO.

These guys, who call themselves Freedom From Porn overlayed funny porn images on iPad ads in public places all around San Francisco.

One shows Steve Jobs checking his Facebook account which seems to have an awful lot of porn links in it.  Don't worry, the video is safe work.

Portrait of a BP Executive

I'm with Coco artist Mike Mitchell is quoted on his website as saying, "I decided to do a portrait of a BP exec tonight…."  So here it is in all it's hilarious glory.  Thanks Mike for the great art!

Seth Green's New Star Wars Comedy Series to be Done in CG

At the MTV Movie Awards, Seth Green was able to reveal two pretty significant details about his new Star Wars themed TV show:

1. It will be done in CG animation, which gfest is completely on board with.

2. It will be set within the timeline of the current films.

That's not a whole lot of breaking news, but its pretty good for a quick red carpet interview.

Playstation 3, 3D Launch Tomorrow with Four Games

Some of the biggest PlayStation 3 games will be available to play in 3D this year. The first 3D games hit as early as tomorrow.

According to Kotaku, at an event in Los Angeles, Sony PlayStation boss Jack Tretton is just rattling off games coming in 3D this year for the PS3. These games will be rendered in stereoscopic 3D and require a 3D TV and glasses in order to experience their popping effects.

Available as early as tomorrow in 3D for your PS3 will be Super Stardust HD and WipEout HD, Pain, and the demo version of MotorStorm Pacific Rift.

Tretton is also showing Gran Turismo 5 and MLB The Show 10 in 3D as well. No release dates on those yet.

The company announced their first 3D motion-controlled game as well. The already-revealed but oft-renamed The Fight: Lights Out will be playable in 3D when it is launched.

Sony also said that starting tomorrow anyone who buys a Sony Bravia 3D TV will get four 3D PS3 games and demos.

For more information about the Sony games going 3D, check out the official PlayStation 3 blog post about tomorrow's releases and Bravia offer.

Futurama's Dr. Zoidberg Mashup of Zingers

Mario Galaxy 3 - Fox's Revenge

Gfest found this very funny cartoon of Mario Galaxy at dorkly and we couldn't stop laughing.  As HUGE fans of Mario Galaxy, we love this cartoon.  Gfest could not make-out the author of this wonderful strip, so please let us know if you who you are.

What the Empire Should Have Cloned!

How much money and time did the Empire waste on Storm Trooper cloning when they could have been utilizing it for much, much better purposes.
Thirdeye at reddit created this fantastic Photoshop picture of Hayden Panettieri at the beach.  Some folks on reddit have accused him of having too much time on his hands.  Gfest completely disagrees.  Gfests is hoping that thirdeye gets around to a Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie set in the near future.

Kim Kardashian or Angelina Jolie as Laura Croft?

There is a rumor going around, via Global Grind that Kim Kardashian is going to have a new movie role:

According to the website, the 29-year-old reality star apparently has begun negotiations to play Lara Croft in the new 3D movie. Kim would be replacing Oscar winner Angelina Jolie, who played Croft in the first two films in the blockbuster franchise.

“This will be something very different to Angelina’s Lara,” a random Hollywood insider tells the world. “Kim is wanted to play a far more comic-strip version of Lara which would be shot in 3-D and aimed at a teen audience.”

Gfest believes there is no comparison.  Step aside Kim you talentless waste of space and let Megan Fox step-in if Angelina doesn't want to do these types of movies anymore.

Futurama Crew, DaVinci & Jesus = Greatness

Only 14 days until the Season Premier of Futurama and Comedy Central has released another wonderfully funny screen shot.

Normally when Gfest thinks of religion and Futurama, the first think that comes to mind is the Robot Devil.   Not DaVinci's The Last Supper but we can only pray that the Robot Devil makes an appearance in this episode.

Comic Artist Oliver Nome's - Baby Girl Superheroes

Oliver Nome is an in house artist for Wildstorm/DC Comics in La Jolla, California. He works directly with an amazing group of artists including Jim Lee.  He also paints and designs clothes on the side.

Oliver produced these wonderful pictures for Phoenix Comicon.  He says, "I started to do these 'Baby/Chibi' drawings for fun and cause the show draws in a lot of manga fans, so I wanted to do something for the girls to enjoy...(and buy;)  Anyhoo, hope you like"

Gfest likes them very much Oliver.   To see all Oliver's fantastic art head over to his deviantART page.

Devo to Appear on Futurama

Gfest is so very excited for June 24 to arrive so we can watch the season premiere of Futurama.  Now Gfest finds out that Devo will appear on the 100th episode of the show.
To celebrate the 100th show, [Matt] Groening asked his musical heroes to be a part of the show – and they agreed to play mutant rights activists. The episode comes as Devo stage a comeback of their own – their upcoming Something for Everybody will be the band’s first album in 20 years. [PR Wire]

Most Frightening Rumor of the Day: Jessica Simpson to Play Samus in Metroid Movie

According to IGN as well as many others, a rumor has been spreading rapidly throughout the day that, my god, i can't even say it with a straight face.  Apparently Uwe Boll, the director of BloodRayne, Shooter, Rampage, Postal, etc. is going to direct a movie version of the video game Metroid (Gfest is in with this part of the rumor).  Also, Jessica Simpson will play the role of Samus. That's where you lose us.

As IGN reported, "Well, don't get too excited yet, sinners. This is pure rumor, but it's such a delectably grotesque rumor that we just have to repeat it."  Thank god.

Stanley Tucci Joins Captain America Movie as Dr. Abraham Erskine

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that beloved character actor Stanley Tucci has been cast in the new Captain America movie as Dr. Abraham Erskine, the scientist whose top secret serum turns a scrawny zero into an all-American hero.

Of course, you probably shouldn’t get too excited about Tucci’s involvement, since in pretty much every telling of the Captain America origin story, Erskine gets assassinated almost immediately after giving Cap the super soldier treatment.

However, its hard to argue that they are putting together a very talented cast for this movie.
